About Nacogdoches Housing Authority

We are currently NOT accepting applications for our Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program. We collected over 500 applications between 7/20/13 and 8/10/13 and will begin processing those soon. It will most likely be over a year before we open that waiting list again.

In February 1976, the Nacogdoches Housing Authority received its first contract with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development to provide rental assistance to 50 low-income families. We are now assisting over 1000 families throughout Nacogdoches County with rental assistance, and own 76 public housing dwelling units.
On April 22, 1975 the Housing Authority of the City of Nacogdoches, TX was created by resolution of the City Commission of Nacogdoches. The City Commission appoints a five member Housing Authority Board of Commissioners who serve voluntarily as the policy making body for our organization. Once appointed, these Board members serve two year terms and function autonomously from the City Commission.
